Why didn’t that poor guy get angry with his landlord?

Well, who is that guy and what was the problem? Let’s read on…

THIS IS A PARABLE.

Once upon a time, there lived a landlord. The landlord hired a servant from a nearby village to come and work for him. During the initial days, the servant reached the landlord’s house by walk. The landlord, having compassion on him, bought him a cycle so that his servant could now get to work in an easier way. Time passed by and the landlord bought him a motorcycle so that his servant could get to work in an even easier way. Some more time passed by and the landlord stated that its time for his servant to get a car. The landlord declared to his servant: “Go to the car showroom and take the white one there for you. I had paid for it already. Just use my name and get your car”. The servant’s joy knew no bounds. He took off with joy to the showroom and saw through the glass that the white car was the best of all. He thought: “How much my landlord loves me!”…But as he contacted the administration of the showroom regarding the car, they laughed at him and insulted him stating that only a fool would come to buy a car with just mere words! Insulted and made fun of, the servant returned to his landlord.

Now on his way, when his co-worker asked him if he was very angry with the landlord, the servant simply stated: “Angry? For what? Once was I a pauper; my master searched for me and gave me a job. Because of his mercy towards me, I am well now. Once I used to walk miles to go to work, but then he gave me a cycle and again after some time he gave me a motorcycle. I never really needed a car. My esteem was low. As per my social status, I should have walked to work all these days, but because of my master’s compassion, I didn’t. Did you see that car? It was the best among all the other ones there! My master wanted me to have that car! That alone is enough for me.”  Ahem! What a thought! What an attitude!

Now it was the landlord’s turn to prove his authenticity. Guess what? He did! If it was enough to just get that car for his servant, the landlord did more than that! Having heard that his servant was rejected his promised gift, the landlord went straight away to the showroom and booked all the cars that were there for his servant. By doing so, the landlord compensated the shame and reproach of his servant.

Dear child of God, what is your attitude towards God today? Did you notice the mentality of the servant in the parable? That is the mentality we should have. The bible says: “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.” Prov. 23:18. Whatever is your expectation, it shall not be cut off. God is more than faithful! There is no point in getting angry with God. There is purpose in your pain. He will turn your past disappointments into testimonies in the future. God bless you!
